A dinner party for Oscar.

Hello all! I'm off to a slow start today after hosting a small dinner party and Oscar viewing last night. Thought I'd share a few photos of the table I put together using things I found lying around the house. The backside of a wintery tablecloth was gold and shimmery, so it provided a great base to start with. I added our simple white dishes (they go with everything!), a favorite cake platter and some pretty white candle holders. I discovered a negative frame in my craft supplies that finished off the look. I cut it up into placecard holders for each of our guests. They definitely got a giggle out of them, and that made me really happy. =)

Did you host an Oscar party? Tell me about it! =)

That is about the cutest thing I've seen! What a beautiful table! I wish I threw a party - I've always wanted to - I wish the Oscars were on a Saturday, it'd be a heck of a lot easier!

Thanks ladies! You are too kind. It certainly would help if they were on a Saturday, but fortunately, here on the west coast, they're over before 9:00 pm! =) Here's hoping you can all make a bash of your own next year?

Hi Amanda -- They're actually paper napkins from Ikea. Thanks! =)
