I have great news to share today! I've partnered with Elizabeth Anne Designs to give away a set of 150 flat-printed Calisson or Bloom invitations and rsvp cards (to be customized in your choice of ink and envelope colors). Calisson is the newest design in my collection and I'm excited to share it with one lucky couple. For full details and to enter, visit the EAD blog. All entries must be received by Tuesday, July 6 at 6:00 PM Central.
Otherwise, I'm off for a little getaway in celebration of my 6th wedding anniversary (hooray!), so I'll be back next week. Enjoy, and good luck!

Details in the new living room...
Now that I've posted the living room as a whole, I thought I'd share some detailed photos. We worked in collections of photo booth photos, postcards, white vases and European travel patches. I added a Cathrineholm roasting pan to the side table to act as a catchall for magazines, remote controls and so on. These fun (and colorful) little details give the room such a happy feel. Thanks for letting me stray off topic. Be sure to check back later in the week for news about a big, exciting giveaway!
The living room is done!
A few weeks ago, I mentioned that my husband and I have been making over our living room to create a mid-century inspired space. We put the finishing touches on everything last week, and are pretty pleased with the results. Our tiny house feels more open (thanks to the lower profile of our new sofa) and certainly more us.
The room was decent before, but it generally lacked color and interest. So what did we do besides purchase a sofa? We splurged on an Eames rocker and found a vintage sideboard, coffee table and side table on Craig's List, which we stripped and refinished. Two things we already owned (a chair from the side of the road that we refinished/recovered and a bookcase from my Grandma) fit in nicely with the new pieces. Accessory-wise, I chose a few things online and thrifted some goodies, too. Although more sparse than its inspiration, I especially appreciate the way the (primarily thrifted) plate wall came together.
Anyhow, my apologies for the quality on some of these photos. It hasn't been sunny in Seattle much lately. Regardless, I think it shows that we love our house again, and that feels good. Please check back later today for some detailed shots.

Color combo: Lemon Drop, Orange + White.
I'm loving yellow and orange lately. It might be because I'm desperately longing for more than two straight days of sunshine out here in Seattle, but who knows? =) Regardless, I love the look of this crisp color combination. Don't you?
Otherwise, I'll be back after next week. My parents are coming to visit and we couldn't be more excited. See you soon...

Guestbook ideas aplenty.
There are so many interesting ways to capture memories from your guests at a wedding. What if you want a more traditional book, though? Here are some that have caught my eye. Some are elegant and pretty, some are whimsical and fun. What fits your wedding style?

Custom calligraphy stamps.
If you love the look of calligraphy and want to reproduce your return address on your RSVP envelopes, be sure to take a peek at Emilie Friday's Etsy shop. The best part about a stamp is that you can use it again and again after your wedding day. Too bad we can't always say the same about a bridesmaid dress! ;)

57 Grand.
It's always exciting to run across a bridesmaid collection that's new to me! 57 Grand has created a fresh and pretty set of dresses in a wonderful array of colors. My favorites include the structured, classic Riverside and the draped, romantic Waverly. At $200 or less, these dresses are not only a deal, but could easily be seen as an investment. Have a great weekend!

Colorful + fun ring bearer pillows.
Why would a bride choose a solid white ring bearer pillow when she could have one of these cuties? I love the bright colors and sweet detailing found on each bloom. Hey Miemie also offers pretty felt hair clips, brooches and more. Enjoy!

Tara & John's vintage save-the-date postcard.
I am super excited to be working on Tara & John's art deco-inspired wedding! This fun couple is getting married at an Indianapolis landmark next winter, so I put together a save-the-date that features a historical postcard of their venue. Their photographer (Jamie from J. Scott Photography) did such an incredible job capturing the couple's vintage vibe that we couldn't resist adding a second postcard featuring an oh-so-dreamy image from their engagement shoot. To pull everything together, I wrapped chocolate brown baker's twine from fellow Etsy vendor, California Craft. I hope Tara & John's guests love these. =)

Making mine a mid-century inspired home.
I'm the kind of person that likes to keep busy, busy, busy. Planning our wedding six years ago was a labor of love that kept me engaged for well over a year. Since, in my spare time, I love planning trips and focusing on our home.
Over the winter, I shared the studio remodel my husband and I completed. Now, I thought I'd give you a glimpse of the living room makeover I'm currently obsessing over. Our kitties had essentially destroyed our couches, so we opted for a less spendy, but still stylish sofa. Overall, we are working towards creating a mid-century modern space with the goodies below as the main inspiration. I hope to share the "before" and "after" in the next week or so. Stay tuned, and have a great weekend!

Etsy find: Rule 42.
How darling are these pinwheels from Rule 42? They come as boutonnieres, hair clips, cake toppers and so on. They can even be made up to a whopping 17" in diameter. Love the impact they create in photos!
